WHY YOU SHOULD NOT PLUG SPACE HEATERS INTO POWER STRIPS!!!!!

DECEMBER, JANUARY, AND FEBRUARY ARE THE BIGGEST MONTHS FOR HEATER FIRES?

Space heaters are 80% responsible for accidental fire deaths.

DID YOU KNOW

Do not plug space heaters into power strips.  Units are not designed to handle the high current flow needed for a space heater and can over heat or even catch fire due to added energy flow.

SAFETY TIPS

  • Keep space heaters at least 3 ft. away from anything that can burn.  Example:  drapes, bedding, and all furniture.
  • Make sure space heaters have an emergency shut off in case it is accidentally knocked over.
  • Plug electric space heaters into an outlet with sufficient capacity and never into an extension cord.
  • Use proper grade of fuel for a liquid fuel space heater, and never use gasoline in a heater no approved for gasoline use.
  • Refuel only in a well-ventilated area and when equipment is cool.
  • Turn off space heater when ever room is unoccupied.
